All EMS calls with one smoke investigation. This doesn't justify paying for 65 paid firemen. Separate EMS and you will not need paid firemen.

Where are the 45% minority career farmin? 'Bury is 45% minority but no black or Hispanic chiefs, captains, lieutenants or pamamedic/ firemen. We need Al and Jessee to investigate this miscarriage of justice.

To consider any type of discrimination you first have to actually have minorities apply. Statically the fire/EMS service is predominately white. I have been a member at a few different fire departments, some not on the Eastern Shore. I've also been on a couple different membership committees. In all those years I can't think of more than 10-12 minorities that ever applied for membership, of these NONE were ever denied membership due to race, a couple were denied membership due to problems that arose during their criminal background check. However I've seen 20+ white applicants denied for the same exact reason.
Oh by the way, right off hand I can think of atleast 3 minorities currently employees by the SFD.
