Have they tried to let it run till it is flushed? That could take several minutes if they were working on the pipes!

I had the same problem earlier today. I didn't notice it until after I had started the washer, by then it was to late to do anything.
We can't even drink the water in this town. It is either this color or smells like bleach. Yesterday the smell of bleach was so bad I could hardly take a shower. The fumes were horrible.

So what ever happen with the employee that stole from the town? She is no longer there so they had to have fired her for something. I guess daddy saved her butt and she got away with stealing? Got to love those firefighters they have on the council. Glad they are looking out for the residents.....oops I mean other council members.
go to town hall now as you type they are having a town meeting to approve the budget and raise you water and sewer bill 9%. I read this in yesterdays paper. I thought public notices were supposed to be two weeks, but then again this is Pittsville. Until someone stands up and puts a stop to this crap it will continue. Her dad was part of the stealing process, he had to co-sign the checks. Again another cover up!!!

I live in pittsville and it happens all the time and every time I call they always say were working on the system or pipes or it's new it happen last week when I was giving my 5 year old a bath and I called they said the same thing last summer I called and they had one of they guys come out and test the water and they said that nothing was wrong with so when I did my whites and they came out brown I took them up there and they gave me this small bag of iron out and told me to wash then again they need to get it together

Many places around here have iron in the water. That is the reason for the color. If you drive across the bridge they have a different mineral in their water. Does that also come from the chickens?
Brown water is caused by the sentiment build up in water mains when increased flows occur stirring up the sentiment. While aggravating the brown water isn’t harmful to humans but it may play havoc on laundry of light colors. According to the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) municipal water systems should be flushed two times per year to remove sentiment from water mains. The flushing of hydrants ensures proper working and maintained hydrants ready for fire service use. Proper maintenance of hydrants includes the removal of all protective caps, lubrication of caps and stem to ensure proper working order. Flushing of municipal water systems are crucial for water quality to residents and to provide properly working fire suppression hydrants. The town of Pittsville currently does non of this and you wonder why you have brown water.

These same comments about the Moore's were here a while back and the people of Pittsville elected him back? Joe posted the info and the idiots still voted for him, maybe he owes them all money? You ought to bump this back to the top, thieves need to be prosecuted.
1:18 is exactly right he was elected back, however only this blog has any information, you see nothing of Pittsville in any of the papers such as Daily Times or Dispatch that is now covering Wicomico County not on TV WBOC or WMDT either and until it gets blown up in all the media this is going to continue just rode by and noticed a new roof etc. on that 100+ year old warehouse money would have been better spent to tear it down and a decent pole building put in its place--that would have made things better as well put the money back into the local economy---more investigation needs to be done about what someone wrote that the Town now owns the Lions Club and the budget notice was not advertised for two weeks as required
