Town To Sell Gas To Citizens At Wholesale Prices

With the cost of gasoline so high, some are forced to spend what would otherwise be added to their disposable income just to get back and forth to work. One town in Kentucky is taking the matter into their own hands by opening a city run filling station.

Somerset, Kentucky has partnered with a recently reopened local refinery to open to the public the fueling center that already provides the fuel for all city vehicles. Officials expect the gas sold there to cost upwards of 10 cent per gallon less than that being sold at normal filling stations.

What's 10 cents when it's pushing 4 bucks a gallon?

On my way to Ocean city Sunday, here on Rt 50 the Exxon was selling it for 3.64.
Usually it is more expensive in OC. I only needed a couple of gallons to get there and back.
When I got to OC the gas was only 3.57 a gal.
As usual your friends and neighbors that own businesses are price gouging those that live and work side by side with them in the community. I have no pity for the greedy business owners that are crying hard times, when I see what they are doing to those they live amongst.

Unmarked speed patrol on E Main St

I guess they were not making enough revenue off the speed camera.

8 am .. don't jump to conclusions, When I was in the business (it was some years ago) prices were tied to fuel deliveries. It maybe that the Salisbury Exxon had received a delivery...

8:50 Nice try... I am not buying it.

That Exxon is notorious for upping their price before the weekend and then dropping it on Monday.
Trying to gouge the tourists....
8:50 is a either sheeple or company shill.

Good idea, drive the free market competitors out of business by not allowing them a measly ten cents on four dollars profit so when they and their employees are all on the welfare line and the government has the monopoly on first natural gas, now gasohol, the pricing can be readjusted to "Proper Levels".

Yeah, just great. Thanks a lot. Wait for a visit from a local militia when you don't expect it.
