(TRAPPE, MD) – A cooperative Maryland State Police investigation involving local and federal law enforcement agencies has led to the arrests of three suspects who are now charged in connection with the armed robbery of a Talbot county bank last week.
The three suspects charged in connection with last week’s robbery of the Talbot Bank in Trappe, Md., are listed above. All three were arrested by the Maryland State Apprehension Team, a special unit of the Maryland State Police and local and federal law enforcement officers and agents. Bannister was arrested at a residence in Cambridge this morning. Morton was arrested last night walking in St. Michael’s. Carroll was arrested at a home in in St. Michael’s last night. Each was arrested without incident.
When police arrested Carroll, he was in possession of a large amount of suspected cocaine, which was packaged for street sales. He was charged by the Talbot County Drug Task Force with the listed drug charges. Both Bannister and Morton were wanted on warrants by other jurisdictions.
The arrests resulted from investigative work that developed evidence, leads, and information that led to the identity of the suspects and connected them with the armed robbery. A gun was displayed during the robbery, but that has not been recovered. The Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division (CED) Upper Shore was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Trappe Police Department, St. Michaels Police Department, and the Delaware State Police in the investigation.
