Someone Has Some Explaining To Do

Documents discovered by Nashville's News Channel 5 investigative reporter Phil Williams apparently show that millions of dollars in tax incentives were used as leverage to keep Volkswagen workers from joining a union. And, United Auto workers' Gary Casteel said that the documents show that Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam's administration took part in coordinating the anti-union campaign. Of course, the governor has denied this, but these documents are said to be damning.

News Channel 5 also says that they have emails showing that Senator Bob Corker's chief of staff worked with anti-union organizations to influence the outcome of that vote.

Even before these discoveries, the United Auto Workers had asked the National Labor Relations Board to overturn the outcome of that election. This new information has only strengthened their argument that politicians actively worked to negatively impact that vote.

No one should get away with conspiring against workers, and hopefully the NLRB will agree that these politicians don't have the right to block the Volkswagen union.

I don't think a law has been broke. Obama and his cronies supported all unions with plenty of money , so what's the big deal. I hate unions anyway.

Ha Ha! The Unions got a taste of their own medicine and it's bitter sweet! These politicians have just as much right to block corrupt unions as Democrats do trying to install the corrupt unions! They won. Get over it! Shut down the Socialist Commie style unions before they completely ruin this country! You want to live in a union style workers "paradise", move to RUSSIA! We all know what thats like and it's exactly what they are trying to turn America into! Efff the UNIONS! We don't need their one party corruption!

I say bring back the Tucker!Do any of us really care about anything other than a car that will last a long time trouble free? Not having to have a regular mechanic as soon as a worthless warranty expires is paramount.

I thought you people were fed up with government waste of your T.axed E.nough A.lready taxpayer money. Now here you have a supreme example of government misuse of your tax dollar (and ILLEGAL no less) but hey they were busting unions so no harm no foul? Do you realize what that does to your integrity and credibility? See why no one takes you seriously?

8:33, I agree with you, we shouldn't get down and dirty like you. Your reputation is already low life, sleze and is expected, but we are to rise above you and do the right thing at all times.

It really is odd how this troubles you so much. You should be a lot more troubled at you and your parties actions like this as it happens ALL time time.

VW already had a UAW plant, outside Pittsburgh from 1979 to 1988. Built Rabbits & Golfs. Market forces and sour labor relations were part of the reasons it closed. VW then built in Mexico.

Japanese firms followed VW to the US because of currency reasons but have chosen to try to avoid unions.

VW is kind of unique because its unions are on its board and have a voice from the top. So it probably had mixed emotions about the TN vote.
