DOVER, Del. (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden's eldest son, Beau Biden, says he won't seek re-election as Delaware attorney general this year but plans to run for governor in 2016.
Biden, who underwent surgery at a Texas cancer center last year, announced his intentions in a statement issued Thursday.
The 45-year-old Biden had said previously that he would seek a third term as attorney general.
Biden, who suffered a mild stroke in 2010, was hospitalized last August after becoming weak and disoriented during an Indiana vacation.

With all due respect, I think it's time that the Biden's give up their family lock on Delaware politics. Even a witch would be welcome now.
Slow Joe
Slow Beau
Lower, Slower count your lucky stars!
His medical issues should raise a red flag.To be as young as he is,he has a lot wrong with him.
I don't think being the governor is in his future. This is an old picture of him. More recent ones show he has some serious health issues. He did have a stroke a few years ago and then was in a cancer center in TX last summer.
As attorney general he's left a lot to be desired.
Lucky for him he had his past medical issues addressed before OweBamacare.
Oh, wait, he's part of the elite. Not to worry; special rules apply!
anyone know anything about the Biden ties to Wachovia Bank and what happened there before it was bought out?
It took Biden 7 times to pass the DE bar! That is the truth.
