Here's How Much Money Doctors Actually Make

Medscape, a subsidiary of the medical information website WebMD, has released its 2014 Physician Compensation Report. The data in the report come from more than 24,000 doctors in 25 specialties, who responded to Medscape's annual survey with information on their compensation for 2013.

The infographic below shows the average earnings for each surveyed specialty. Orthopedists were the highest earners:

Guess they should only make $10.10 an hour?

Actually, I thought they made more than that.

Most actually make much less 8:05 esp if they work in an office which is owned by a hospital. These are averages. You get a doctor who is a principal/owner in an office with 5 other doctors, those doctor employees of the principal may make $200,000 and the principle may make %400,000. The average then is $233,000 for the office.
Anytime you are dealing with averages you really aren't getting a true picture.
