Incident: WCSO Activity 7-9 March 2014

Location: Wicomico County 
  • On 7 March 2014 at 1:30 PM a deputy arrested Ryan Thomas Powell, 30 of Salisbury, on a Circuit Court Bench Warrant. The warrant was issued after Powell failed to appear for a violation of probation hearing in a CDS Possession with the Intent to Distribute case. Powell was detained without bond.

  • On 8 March 2014 at 4:00 PM a deputy arrested Matthew Mark Gray, 31 of Salisbury, on a Circuit Court Bench Warrant. The warrant was issued after Gray violated the terms of his probation in an Assault 2nd Degree case. Gray was detained on a bond of $5,000.00.

  • On 8 March 2014 at 4:00 PM a deputy arrested Michael Vanderhoeven, 28 of Salisbury,on a District Court Bench Warrant. The warrant was issued after Vanderhoeven failed to appear for trial in an Assault 2nd Degree case. Gray was detained on a bond of $25,000.00.

  • On 9 March 2014 at 4:50 PM a deputy arrested Michael Nicholas Villa, 52, of Salisbury,MD, on two District Court Bench warrants. Both were issued after he failed to appear in two court cases, one for Possession of Martial Arts Weapons and the other for Indecent Exposure. Villa was detained on a total bond of $55,000.00.

Incident: Possession of Marijuana
Date of Incident: 9 March 2014
Location: Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: 1. Shalesa Shante Curtis, 20,Salisbury, MD
               2. Briana Shanee Chandler, 22, Owings Mills, MD
Narrative: On 9 March 2014 at 6:54 PM a deputy stopped a vehicle after an MVA query revealed that the registration had been suspended.Upon approach to the vehicle, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana. Upon inquiry, both the driver Briana Chandler and her passenger Shalesa Curtis stated they did not smell anything and that it must be someone else. During the subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputy recovered marijuana from both of the occupant’s purses. Further search also revealed two baggies containing what was recognized as marijuana under the front seats.  Over an ounce of marijuana was recovered from Curtis and Chandler.  Curtis was charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute following the investigation while Chandler was just charged with Possession. The deputy transported both Curtis and Chandler to the Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After their initial appearances, Curtis was detained on $15,000.00 bond while Chandler was released on Personal Recognizance.

Incident: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Date of Incident: 8-9 March 2014
Location: Wicomico County, MD                          
  • On 8 March 2014 at 10:22 PM a deputy arrested Jonathan Andrew Evans, 28 of Salisbury, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.Evans was stopped after the deputy witnessed him driving erratically. During processing Evans’ blood alcohol content was measured at .21. Evans was released to a sober driver upon the issuance of citations.
  • On 9 March 2014 at 5:22 AM a deputy arrested Tyler Alexander Long, 19 of Salisbury, for Driving Under the Influence. Long was found in his vehicle passed out and slumped over the vehicle after he drifted off the road and stopped. During processing Long’s blood alcohol content was measured at.11. Long was released to a sober driver upon the issuance of citations.


Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 9 March 2014
Location: 800 block of Seminole Blvd., Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Joseph Dominique, 55, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 9 March 2014 at 10:34 AM a deputy responded to a residence in the 800 block of Seminole Blvd. for a reported altercation. Upon arrival the deputy learned that the couple that resided there had engaged in an argument during which Joseph Dominique reportedly cut his girlfriend on the wrist with a butter knife. During the investigation the deputy observed signs of injury that corroborated that account.  The deputy placed Dominique under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Dominique in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.
