Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer Vetoes Religious Freedom Bill

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer announced late Wednesday that she had vetoed a bill in the state legislature that would protect religious freedoms but had been labeled as “anti-gay.”

“Senate Bill 1062 does not address a specific or present concern related to religious liberty in Arizona,” Brewer said. “I have not heard of one example in Arizona where a business owner’s religious liberty has been violated.

“The bill is broadly worded and could result in unintended and negative consequences,” Brewer continued. “After weighing all of the arguments, I have vetoed Senate Bill 1062 moments ago.”

Even Brewer wasn't dumb enough to sign that bigotry into law.

Arizona already went through the mess of not acknowledging the MLK Jr Birthday holiday--

she caved to the threats--besides you cannot legislate civility -it's something to sort out in Court

>>>Had nothing to do with freedom and everything to do with oppression<<< 'Oppression'? Really? You twerps get sillier every day. If a business doesn't want to serve you, then grow a pair and take your business elsewhere.

"Even Brewer wasn't dumb enough to sign that bigotry into law." But in your tiny little mind, it is somehow OK for the govt to force the business owner into actions contrary to his religion?

8:48 What if the business owners "religion" says he should serve women? or seniors? or vets? or whatever other WHACKY idea that "religion" says... That owner should just shut down, and pound sand. You have the tiny mind, and the owner is a bigot, and a horrible person. They should roast nicely in hell.

The 'problem' with this bill is that it would make it legal for Muslims to refuse Christians. The bigotry and hypocrisy is insane.

What about people who are born with a penis and a vagina? Or neither? Or two of each? Where do you want to pigeonhole those folks? Do they have to decide "what they are" to satisfy your expectations?

And the first one who comments "Lucky", might be right.
