Toby Keith Restaurant In Va. Bans Guns, Sparks Uproar

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - A new restaurant that recently opened in Woodbridge is sparking a Second Amendment controversy, especially online.

The restaurant named for country music star Toby Keith has posted a " No guns permitted" sign on its front door and gun rights supporters are blasting the restrictions on the chain's Facebook page. Some comments accuse Keith, who doesn't own the restaurant, of being anti-gun.

Virginia is a right to carry state, which means residents can openly carry a firearm without a license.

But some local residents support the restaurant's decision to ask customers to leave their guns behind when visiting the chain.

Actually, in the old West some saloons demanded the same, "Leave yer guns at the door son." It's just that the barkeep had a sawed-off double barrel or two under the bar.
Wonder if this place is arming their staff for everyone's protection?

Ummm...the guy licenses his name to a restaurant. He doesn't own them. He doesn't run them.
Good point about the "old west" too...

Do they sell booze? If so, wearing and drinking is frowned upon. Otherwise, such as a Denney's, it should be fine.

Yes they do sell alcohol but if I'm correct if you are armed it is illegal to drink alcohol.
If it was me I think I would want people that have gone through all the back ground checks and know how to use a gun in my business. If you notice it's not the ones that carry a gun legally that cause the problems.

This guy was a chicken s&%T when he was over in Iraq singing for us troops,as soon as a mortar went off near the base he scrambled off stage and left! he said, "This place is too dammed dangerous, I'm getting outa here"!
Then we see on the news he is shown on stage singing his heart out for the troops, but it was in Kuwait City! No body stateside found out that he chickened out and left Iraq, but little Carrie Underwood was in country, she didn't leave!
