SALISURY – The City Council this week approved Comcast’s rates for 2014, two lease renewals with the Tri-County Council for a Shore Transit bus stop and the establishment of a mechanical fee.
New Cable Rates Accepted
The council voted 3-0, with Councilwoman Terry Cohen and Councilwoman Shanie Shields absent, to approve a Resolution to accept the calculation of maximum permitted rates for limited basic service and regulated equipment and installation rates as set forth in Comcast’s rate filing dated Sept. 30, 2013.
According to Salisbury Director of Internal Services Keith Cordrey, the city received from Comcast, Forms 1240 and 1205, which calculate the maximum permitted rate for limited basic service and maximum permitted rates for equipment and installation of service based on Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations.

It's the city's franchise fee's that make cable so expensive.
They are adding a new fee that will be called a service fee of $1:50 a month in Jan. 2014 to everyones bill.
It's not the franchise fee that makes cable so expensive, although that is a part of the price. The real reason that it's so expensive is because there is no competition. This arrangement is crooked. Comcast is given a monopoly, and their price increases show it.
The city should let any cable company that wants to be here operate, and just charge a flat fee per subscriber.
yeah I used to work on the owner of comcast's falcon jet what a total scumbag. used to cry about the charges then try to negotiate the bill. I always told the boss he don't let his customer negotiate the price they chose to pay for cable. new year and Comcast is out of my house for good! they been tying Verizon up in court to prevent them from expanding their high speed internet so Comcast can keep their monopoly! f em!
Comcast desires no rate increase period. Their service is terrible.
