ANNAPOLIS – On Monday, November 18, Governor O’Malley will tour the Columbia set of the Emmy awarding-winning series VEEP to highlight the recent expansion of the Maryland Film Tax Credit and the Administration’s commitment to job creation. The governor, along with creator/writer/director Armando Iannucci, will deliver brief remarks prior to the closed-press tour of the show’s sound stage. To date, the tax credit is responsible for the creation of 7,700 Maryland jobs.
The series is currently filming its third season in Maryland. HBO productions have generated an estimated $300 million in economic impact in Maryland, and resulted in approximately 30,000 local hires of Maryland crew, actors and extras since 1997.

Funny how they believe that a tax CREDIT creates jobs, while on the other hand, they are taxing businesses to death in MD ....
I got a job as an extra once. I'm in a James Bond film called "License to Kill". I made a whole hundred dollars for my part. Yeah, really an economic boost that year!
