ANNAPOLIS – Maryland’s three Democratic gubernatorial candidates have made early childhood education a priority, saying the state should offer pre-K to more children to address the achievement gap.
Delegate Heather Mizeur, D-Montgomery County, is scheduled to roll out a universal plan tomorrow morning following plans put forth by her Democratic opponents, Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown and Attorney General Doug Gansler. Delegate Mizeur has not addressed how she will fund universal pre-K.
Brown and Gansler proposed an expansion of the state’s pre-kindergarten education program by means of gambling revenue raised by state casinos.

Own the education, own the vote. Warp the minds, take God away from school Warp the history. Teach them how to be a wimpy liberal dependent voter.
Yep, that works - they have been doing this for many years. Why else would we have smart cars and Obomation bumber stickers with "Co-Exhist" on them?
All the loser parents who could care less who/where they dump their young child on will be thrilled with this.
Nothing more than another evasion of parental responsibility.
By grade 3 or sooner, the minimal gains made due to pre-K and Head Start programs disappear. It's like letting a non-runner start a race before other entrants do. For the first few seconds, the non-runners look competitive but they don't sustain the pace over time.
