Sussex County, DE- Delaware State Police Detectives have arrested two people in connection with numerous burglaries and thefts that occurred in Sussex County.

Detectives from Troop 4 Property Crimes began their investigation on August 20, 2013 into multiple burglaries occurring in the Lincoln and Frankford areas where scrap metal and copper were removed from area businesses and then sold to local scrap and salvage yards. Through the investigation Kyle E. Powell was developed as a suspect after some of the items he had exchanged through the scrap yards were registered in his name.

On August 21, 2013, Kyle Powell was arrested at his residence in Frankford and transported back to Troop 4 in Georgetown. He was charged with the above listed offenses and committed to SCI in default of $12,500.00 secured bond.

Further investigation revealed Kyle was working with Christopher S. Powell, his uncle, when these crimes were committed. During one of the burglaries committed on August 15th, the two removed a double barrel shotgun, a semi-automatic, and an SKS 7.62 rifle from a 74 year old male victim’s out-building located in the 9000 block of North Union Church Road in Lincoln.
