Where is the call for 1108 E Church St, where 4 fire trucks showed up, when only one was needed? Happened on Thursday. It was a minor issue. Waste of resources.

The City of Salisbury needs to divorce the EMS service from the fire service. Set up a separate department. Billing would more than pay for it and then the fire side would not be raiding ems funds to support themselves. Stations 1,2 and 16 are "volunteer". Let them hustle for funding like the other volunteer fire companies in the county. And sell the fireboat.
A true waste of resources. We may hear that we may need the fireboat, well then they may need a medivac helicopter. Hey Salisbury, why not helicopter service?

I saw 4 ambulances there also.

Because the fire department always knows ahead of time exactly what resources are needed, especially when the 911 call is hysterical or indicates a bigger problem than it really is...you're a waste of a cranium...

Imclain, one would think that the other 3 could be on call and ready if needed instead of wasting resources responding unnecessarily. we were there, you were not. but thank you for your snide 2 cents, hope you didn't go broke with that donation. you are clueless.

fact is once they determined only one was needed, why did the other 3 continue to waste time and do nothing. they must be physic to kn0w what they need per a phone call

I definitely agree with this comment.

Get rid of Rick Hoppes and John Tull. They are a waste.!!

Jim Ireton you lied to us.

In a lot of major cities you cannot get an ambulance to respond.. let alone 3 at a time. I hope they turn out like that the next time you are hurt.

1:32 - lame analogy. you and lmclain should pool your 2 cents and see if you can form a reasonable and logical thought together.

These farmen are good people , they work hard . My goodness , stop bashing them . We don't them , I know , but that 's not their fault. Blame the city government , council , or whoever.
I would love to shoot pool all day or watch TV , or exercise. Oh hum , fire , fire raging all about , where is the farmen to put the far out?

2:51 Thank you for your 2 cents.

2:51...I'm not a firefighter, a dispatcher, or an EMT, but I'd rather have MORE resources than necessary at the scene (if MY house was on fire) than to be told "we were just playin' it close, sorry about your kids". It's also a matter of training at several levels, so when an emergency occurs, EVERYONE knows their role. You know, like 10 different cop cars showing up at a speeding stop because there are three black men in a car and although one or two cops could easily handle it, better to be safe than dead. Is that more than two cents or just over your head?? Sign your name if YOU have "two cents" to contribute, you sissy.

10:13, that is a BLATANT LIE. SFD currently has only 3 ambulances in service, and only 2 are dispatched to a reported structure fire. nice try

WTH is "Natural Cover"? 901 N Salisbury Blvd. Does that mean,"Let's dispatch to Subrunners for lunch"?

A "Natural Cover" fire is a general term used in the fire service for mulch, shrub, tree, grass, field, woods fires.
