Troopers responded to Delmar Police Department yesterday afternoon to meet with a 20 year old female who informed them someone had attempted to kidnap her. She advised the troopers she was walking eastbound on Whitesville Road (SR30) just east of Old Stage Road around 3:00 p.m. when a white 4 door sedan pulled up in front of her and the operator exited the vehicle. The victim began running away from the stranger who was spooked off when a passing car approached. The vehicle then made a U-turn and again pulled in front of the female. The operator once again exited his car and was able to grab a hold of the victim in an attempt to get her in his car. The victim was able to free herself from his grasp outside his car when another vehicle approached and saw the two in a struggle. The male subject was able to re-enter his car and flee westbound on Whitesville Road. The passer-by then drove the victim to Delmar PD in order to report this incident.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'07"-5'08" tall, 135-140 lbs., with black hair down to his ears, wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. He was operating a white 4 door sedan with possible Virginia license plates.
