The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. last night as Robert L. Dorman III was operating a2006 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound on Shiloh Church Road approaching Scott Land Road.  Dorman came to a stop in the roadway with his left turn signal illuminated to allow a vehicle, traveling eastbound, to pass in order to make a left onto Scott Land Road.  Kaetlin B. Burke was operating a 2000 Honda Accord, traveling westbound on Shiloh Church Road, approaching the stopped motorcycle when she failed to see the stopped motorcycle, and struck the rear of it at full speed.  The motorcycle became lodged in the engine compartment of the Honda and remained upright while the operator was forced rearward into the windshield.

Kaetlin Burke, who was properly restrained, was not injured in the collision.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a contributing factor.  The intersection of Shiloh Church Road and Scott Land Road were closed for approximately three hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.

I would think that paying attention to YOUR DRIVING would be more important. A helmet probably would not have helped him.
