The General Assembly’s joint Bond Bill Committee voted today to accept an $8 million plan to aid Delaware’s casino industry, presented this week by Gov. Jack Markell.
The money will be used to offset payments to vendors that supply video lottery machines to Dover Downs, Delaware Park and Harrington Raceway, administration officials said. The casinos will not be able to use the money for other expenses.

I wonder how long before MD's need a bailout? Everyone knows it's coming.
If the casinos can't operate without a taxpayer bailout they should close down.
No surprise here, knew from the beginning if they couldnt make it us taxpayers would bail them out.
Thank you, 1255. This was sold to us as a way to pay for education. If their business plan failed, then they need to close the business, just as I would have to close mine. No government is going to bail me out.
ahhh leaving this area in just a few days for good.......nothing around here is done with much thought....it would require active brain cells and there isnt much of that on delmarva.....
