EASTON -- A symposium to educate the public on the economic impact the commercial fishing industry brings to Maryland will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Rufus M. and Loraine Hall Todd Performing Arts Center at the Wye Mills campus of Chesapeake College.
The event, Maryland Watermen's Symposium, is put on by the Chesapeake Bay Commercial Fishermen's Association in conjunction with Comptroller Peter Franchot's office.
The symposium is free and open to the public.
