Man Cited For DUI After Crashing Into Rehoboth Taco Bell

Rehoboth Beach- A crash late yesterday evening has left the Taco Bell, 19010 Costal Highway, unable to be occupied until structural repairs are made.

The incident occurred at 11:44 p.m. as Gregory Pflug, 60, drove his 2011 Honda Pilot through the Taco Bell drive through. As he left the drive through and began to drive around the building, he accelerated suddenly, and drove over a flower bed, through an outdoor seating area, and into the northeast corner of the building. Pflug then exited his vehicle and fled on foot, but was followed by witnesses and quickly apprehended by Troopers responding to the crash.

No one was injured during this incident. Pflug was issued a traffic summons for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failing to have insurance identification in possession, speed exhibition, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and failing to provide information at the scene of a property damage crash. An inspection of the Taco Bell revealed the crash left the building unable to be occupied safely.
