Common Core, the controversial set of educational standards aimed at firming up students’ grasp of math and language, has already attracted criticism from sources both left and right. On the one hand, privacy advocates fret over the program’s data mining on students. On the other, teachers complain that the standards are overly rigid and won’t lead to a better education system. And now, parents angry over their students being tested on subjects they haven’t had time to learn are striking back as well — by giving their children a truly hands’ on lesson in civil disobedience.

Parents in this county need to consider this option. So little is done for average and above average learners because incredible resources are being devoted to those who won't learn or behave. We're getting rid of top groups to close the gap between races. If they get no teacher time, maybe good achievers won't be so far ahead of those who are declining in performance. Until instruction for good students matters, their test scores shouldn't matter either. Don't take the test is a good way to show we've had enough.
Common Core ...oh, whats that??? Of course you don't know ... its not on the cartoons, video games and news you watch.
If they're not worth teaching, they're not worth testing is what many parents are saying. Probably true.
My children are conveniently absent on testing days. Perfect time for vacation.
The county doesn't give standardized achievement tests any more because they would show the huge differences in achievement. They just give MSA or something similar with no questions above grade level.
government schools are nothing more than government indoctrination centers.
parents, haven't you figured this out yet? get your children out of these warehouses called schools before its too late.
Pull your heads out of your .....sand parents. Kids are being lied to and indoctrinated. Do some homework instead of watching TV parents. Common Core is bad, socialist stuff.
