STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR O’MALLEY ON PRELIMINARY MARCH JOBS REPORT

ANNAPOLIS, MD (April 19, 2013) - Governor Martin O’Malley today issued the following statement on the U.S. Department of Labor’s release of preliminary employment data for the month of March:

“Last month, Maryland’s dynamic private sector continued to drive our job growth, creating 5,100 jobs and bringing the number of private sector jobs in our state to its highest level in nearly five years. Maryland has now recovered 97 percent of the jobs lost during the Bush recession and our unemployment rate, while still too high, is 13 percent lower than the national rate.

“There is no progress without a job. Together with the members of the General Assembly, we had a very productive legislative session where we passed meaningful legislation focused on creating jobs and expanding opportunity. We remain focused on strengthening and growing our businesses, and fueling the job-creating potential of Maryland's world-class innovation economy.”

There was no Bush recession. The recession began when the Democrats took over both the House and the Senate in 2006. O'Malley is a liar. How can there be job growth when people are leaving the State because of being over taxed.

Meanwhile, back in Realityville....

Who is he fooling? 5099 of these "jobs" are the result of farming and seasonal jobs reopening.

Exactly 11:18 the recession was born the moment Barney Frank said--
"These two entities—Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac—are not facing any kind of financial crisis."

If the democrats had an ounce of honesty in them and didn't lie constantly they would admit that had Bush had his way there would have been an inquiry and the recession possibly averted.
But they lie and are able to perpetuate the lies because the democratic voters are either themselves liars or stupid.

11:56 Good point. It was in 2005 that Bush announced his concerns about Mae and Mac. Each time he tried to have hearings on the issues, the Democrats said no. Each time Barney Frank was questioned about the problems all he did was slobber like a bulldog on novocain.

"13 percent lower than the national rate"

O'Malley is admitting Obama is a failure.

Not only Pres Bush but Sen McCain and several other REPUBICAN Senators called for inquiries and each time the inquiries were shot down by the democratic controlled Congress at the time.

Let's be real.

Maryland is loaded with GOVERNMENT jobs. The jobless rate is inaccurate every day of the week, month, year because most people in Maryland work for the government. Same goes for northern Virginia. O'Malley isn't fooling anyone.

VA's jobless fell to 5.3% in March. Maybe O'Malley is counting jobs in the wrong state.

Joe said-"Maryland is loaded with GOVERNMENT jobs"

Yep-and each time some new state 'program' is implimented it equates to more state jobs. One of the latest is the state jobs created to oversee obamacare in the state.

tsk, tsk, there he goes again. The Bush recession which wasn't. I guess he thinks that if he says it enough time it will make it true but history sticks to facts and the consequences has been of Maryland rankings going way down.

Can you say liar, liar pants on fire?
