A bill seeking to make the abuse of patients by their therapists a crime has brought together an unlikely team of legislators and a young woman who could have never imagined herself so immersed in state legislation, coined “Lynette’s Law,” HB 60.
Heather Lynette Sinclair, 27, turned to Maryland lawmakers in hope that she might be able to end an invisible chain of abuse within the mental health field.
“I didn’t even know what the General Assembly was when I started all this,” said Sinclair with a laugh. “I wasn’t even registered to vote.”

If you aren't registered to vote and don't even know what the General Assembly is at age 27, I doubt you have enough sense to consent to sex in the first place. So yeah, maybe it was a form of statutory rape.
Ugh, Another fatty who think men are hitting/sexually abusing on them.
I was thinking the same thing 3:01
How about serial sexual harassment by college professors?
I agree with her. People put an immense amount of trust in therapists, revealing innermost thoughts and feelings. No one should take advantage of the weaknesses entrusted to them by the weak. Yes, I am a therapist.
Any expert is the field of sexual assault knows that this felony has nothing to do with sex but having power and control over the victim. They usually have some deep rooted insecurity issue that stems from their childhood, such as, not being able to live up to the expectations.
Yeah 8:02 and they are repeat offenders until they try to offend the wrong one.
Most shrinks and therapists are crackpots to begin with. That's what got them into the profession.
