WEATHER SPOTTER TRAINING COURSE SCHEDULED

Salisbury, MD Five lower eastern shore Emergency Management offices, in cooperation with the National Weather Service (NWS) Regional Weather Office in Wakefield, Virginia will be offering a Basic SKYWARN Weather Spotter course and Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (COCORAHS) training on May 9, 2013.

As a SKYWARN trained Weather Spotter, participants will be among the nearly 300,000 individuals across the country providing critical data to the NWS and local Emergency Management offices. COCORAHS training will equip attendees to accurately report precipitation data used by the NWS. Trainees will then be able to assist these weather agencies protect lives and property during severe weather incidents.
