Something really needs to be done about drunk driving. Mr. Gingery got two DUIs within three days of each other just last month.

Joe....Id like someone to comment on what the Salisbury Police Department's Policy is regarding a citizen reporting an alleged drunk driver. A week or so ago, I was almost hit by a vehicle swerving on Rt 13. I followed the vehicle, and observed the vehicle nearly hit a pedestrian on a sidewalk, come within inches of a head-on collision, then swerve into a bar/restaurant. I phoned the SPD, gave a description of the vehicle, and waited for the police to arrive. After about 10 minutes, the man got back into his vehicle and proceeded down Priscilla street, again crossing lines, nearly colliding head on two more times, and then pulling into a residence. The man then exited his vehicle and urinated on a tree next to the road. I again phoned the police and notified them that the man had moved locations and was surely going to kill someone if he continued to drive around Salisbury. They said they would notify someone. I sat across the street from this location, watched the man get back in his truck, and pass out. I gave the police the address, and waited about 45 min. Nobody arrived. Why is this? Im really confused about their lack of response.

I had a similar experience with the MSP. A drunk stopped dead in front of the County liquor store by Giant Food and staggered into the store. Left his TN tagged truck running, completely blocking traffic in the lot. As I didn't know the # for SPD and didn't think to call 911, I dialed *77 for MSP and was told that Salisbury was not their jurisdiction. WTF?????????????? The store refused service by the way.

Salis. PD does not care about drunk drivers.. I was pulled over last week with an OPEN CONTAINER (A bottle of Vodka) in the car.. all they worried about was harassing my BF because he "smelled like weed." They didn't ask me if I had been drinking, not breathalyzer test, no nothing.. just dumped my bottle out and continued to harass him until they walked away looking stupid because they could not find any drugs.. lol.. and let me drive away as if nothing even happened...

Harassing your B/F because he smells like weed isn't harassment honey. It's called police work moron.

It's called a waste of time.

So when you're committing a crime and police stop you its now called harassment? LOL yeah whatever.

So I still want to know what their policy is. Is it based on severity or urgency? Is it based on who is available, or how many? I walk my two girls on the sidewalk where he came up and nearly took this woman OUT!..for good. So does anyone know what the Salisbury Police Department's responsibility is when someone phones to report a crime with potential deadly consequences?

Yeah, you're right. Morons work for the police. They pulled the car over because they smelled weed on the passenger? Weed, what 52% of U.S. population favors legalizing. What most areas consider a summary offense, which means get a ticket and pay a fine. But this is Maryland, the police state of the country.

So when you're committing a crime and police stop you its now called harassment? LOL yeah whatever.

Well she never said what she was pulled over for, so who knows what precious law she broke. The cops were probably hoping to confiscate her bf weed so they could smoke it, and got mad when they found none.

Figures it was Salis. cops. No other cop, except a dumb rookie would even bother with such small fry. But I guess they have to write SOMETHING done to show what they did for 8 hours. Besides guard Royal Farms coffee and donuts.
