Poll: Slight Majority Still Supports Death Penalty; Overwhelming Support For Gun Control Measures

As delegates debate a bill abolishing the death penalty already passed in the Senate, a new Goucher College poll finds a slight majority of Marylanders (51%) oppose ending executions — even though many overestimate how often it is used and a majority says it does not deter murder and would prefer life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

On the other hot issue still awaiting action by the House Judiciary Committee, an overwhelming majority of Marylanders — more than four out of five — support the major provisions of Gov. Martin O’Malley’s gun control proposal, despite the fierce opposition of a gun-owning minority that has flooded Annapolis hearing rooms.

Surprisingly, even in the one-third of households that have a gun owner, there was majority support for the most controversial provisions of the O’Malley package — requiring a license and fingerprinting to get a handgun.

They should be held accountable for their lies!!!

I truly believe the second part of this survey is a lie! There are far more 1/3 of households in Maryland that have guns. Most of the guns in peoples homes are not registered, therefore will not allow the State Government to inslave us.

Dissinformation!
The overwelming majority of people DO NOT want gun right restricted.
Lies, Lies, and more lies in the best style of the former soviet union.

O'Malley the communist propagandist.

It is time to start shooting these fools!
Stand up for the Constitution.

O'Malley is a domestic terrorist.
Feinstein is also a domestic terrorist.
They should be treated as such as well as anyone that supports them.
The dividing line has been crossed.
I consider them ENEMIES of the Constitution.

Once again I wasn't polled. It would be interesting to do a poll on exactly who gets polled in these liberal reinforcement campaigns. I would believe most of the urban government subsidy recipients would be for restriction of the second amendment but not the rest of MD.

Fact. If you live in Md and have owned an old gun from WW2 that still works fine and is semi-automatic, don't register it. I wouldn't.

Ok peeps.....it's all about how the question is posed!

I find that hard to believe. Sounds like the admin is pulling the same stunt obammy used in a similar situation.

Trying to sway public opinion with false information.

Don't fall for it people.
