Maryland House Passes Jobs Training Bill

ANNAPOLIS -- The Maryland House of Delegates on Tuesday passed Gov. Martin O'Malley's $2.5 million jobs training bill.

The so-called "Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN)" program would distribute grants to community colleges, workforce centers, employers and certain industries to be used to provide training in high-demand jobs. A state website would be created to connect job seekers and training programs.

Due to the wider job market in certain areas, Boiling Water 101 and Burger Flipping 201A appear to be the most popular courses. Students can choose to make it a Biggie and enroll in both courses at the same time. Mr. Governor keeps doing all these wonderful things for us. He will surely be missed when he leaves office.

My question is what jobs? Except for service sector jobs like fast Food and retail where are these great jobs? Manufacturing has either left the state or moved overseas to countries like China or India. Even Construction jobs are few and far between because of our economy and governmental policies through free trade agreements have ruined any chance of opportunity for our youth and older displaced adults over 40!
I think the governor is blowing smoke out of his ass!!!!!!!!!!!!
