IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family

In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.

Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.

The IRS's assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.

Who this is going to hurt the most is those who pay no taxes (the
47%.) Quite a few of those people depend on their tax refunds to buy certain items which in turn helps to bolster the economy.
How it's going to work is that you have to prove you are purchasing insurance to the IRS and if you offer no proof you will get fined which is then deducted out of any tax refund money you are owed.
This part of the bill hasn't been talked about much esp on the MSM but wait until it starts happening. They will maybe start rioting when they open those envelopes and find instead of a refund check a bill saying they owe the government money.

6:17 Sure do hope you are right

The average family can't afford 20k. They'll pay the fine and continue getting free care in the ER. This is not Affordable Care. It's beyond nonsense which is why it's called Obama Care

Well of course no one can afford it--that was the whole objective. The solution will be a national Health Service like Britatin has-complete with pathways to let sick babies, cancer patients and the elderly die without treatment. I hope you Obama voters get what you voted for.

All this "affordable" care BS was nothing more than obama sucking up to big corporation executives in the insurance industry.
obama is the absolute worst ever in being lead around by the rich corporate world. They say jump and obama jumps. He is so enamored by the Big Boys that he has turned into their slave. Now the insurance industry is getting richer AND have also figured out a way to ration care and take the heat off of them in doing so by blaming it on the fed govt mainly the Dept of Health and Human Services which all doctors are now required to send patient info to and a "panel" they have in place are going to give treatment "recommendations."
