Frozen Water Bottle Mystery

Okay, you engineers/scientists and smart ones, out there?explain this one!

The frozen water bottle.. Folks, this is really interesting. Don't know why this happens.....do you??

The water has been supercooled. It remains liquid, even though it is below it's freezing temperature. Crystals usually like to form on other crystals, and generally on something like dust, or a scratch. When the super cooled liquid is agitated, a crystal will form on something... and since crystals like to grow on crystals... you end up with what you see in the video... the freezing slowly moves or grows through the bottle.

It's the same as my kids magic slushy cup. The ones you see the commercials for. Really cool

My wife is like that, tap her top her bottom freezes.

2:32 Mines just the opposite. Touch her bottom and everything freezes.
