By The Numbers: Obama’s Popularity Plunges While Gun Rights Issues Gain In Popularity

Though President Obama continually touts the support of America in his crusade against gun rights, he may be doing so on mere speculation as polls released on Friday indicate that Americans are dissatisfied with his new gun control proposals.

Gallup released a new poll with Obama plunging below the 50% mark. While TPNN recently reported that Obama enjoyed a 53% favorable rating, his numbers have crashed to 49% amidst his vehement crusade for stricter gun control laws.

As Obama suffers the decline, the latest Gallup polls show a 54% approval rating of the NRA.

While Obama’s approval rating is not entirely tied to gun control issues, it has remained at the forefront of national discussion and Obama has recently unveiled 23 executive orders he signed that he has claimed will help curb gun violence.

Obama’s slump comes after a brief surge from having secured higher taxes in the fiscal cliff negotiations while not submitting to any meaningful spending cuts- a victory for the left who have advocated continual government spending.

Meanwhile, while President Obama and other leading liberals have questioned why anyone would need, what they call, “weapons of war” and “assault weapons,” according to Rasmussen Polls, 65% of Americans view the Second Amendment protection of individual firearm ownership to not be merely a sporting consideration, but to be a protection against tyranny.
