As of Monday, 22 states are petitioningPresident Obama for peaceful secessionfrom the United States of American. It's unclear whether these petitions are a nod to dissatisfaction that some conservatives think may soon match Civil War proportion, or merely an attempt to make an official statement of utter contempt for the current government. However, disgruntled citizens are on their way to getting attention, currently with 22 states participating.
Collectively, the petitions have currently garnered 93,166 signatures. If the goal is to amass a total of 58,783,137 signatures, one for each citizen who voted for Mitt Romney, obviously, the petitions need to circulate a little longer. Most agree these petitions are a dramatic effort to influence Obama's agenda, and reinforce the conservative mantra that Obama has "no mandate."

27 states have now signed on. texas has 65,000 signatures and of course it's growing. crybabies? don't think so. we see a sinking ship and don't want any part of it. you on the other hand are dumb and blind. so sad for you.
As of this morning the total has reached 47 states. Only Maine, Washington and one other state has not joined the petition drive.

It's not the states petitioning for secession its resident of the state. Now that their names are on the government website they will ne targeted by Obama and no one will do anything about it.

A petition from Texas has been submitted to The White House.
ok 1150, please allow me a moment to help catch you up. A collection of largely anonymous entities essentially clicking "like" on a petition does NOT equal a "state" petition. Did the current governor of TX start or support the petition? Or maybe it was the state legislature. Look it up before you soak up more of the nonsense.
