Maryland has no money to build new transportation projects and in five years won't have enough money to maintain its roads and transit, the state's top budget analyst told lawmakers Tuesday afternoon.
The state's transportation trust fund will have roughly $4 billion to spend between now and 2018, according to the General Assembly's Office of Policy Analysis.
"The outlook and the situation for the trust fund are quite grave," Warren Deschenaux, the office's director, warned lawmakers before presenting the data.

I guess king omalley shouldn't have raided the transportation. But all those speed cameras and higher tolls and most important those revenues from gambling should cover things. Right? Yeah right.
Stop spending!
Prepare for ludicrous taxation!
Now the "western shore" will see what the "eastern shore" has to deal with...
What? Out of money? How could that happen? But where...?
where did o'malley spend the transportation money??
Most states are broke and it's funneling down to cities and counties. The majority of Americans haven't a clue about how everything works and thinks gov'ts are made out of money. Pension plans are next to go the wayside just like house values did. It's unfortunate that gov't employees can't grasp this and it shows that the majority of them are in the lower IQ range.
