A bill to repeal the death penalty in Maryland will be introduced again during the 2013 lawmaking session.
Past repeal bills presented in the state have failed to reach a floor vote in 10 of the last 12 legislative sessions.
Sen. Lisa A. Gladden (D-Dist. 41) reintroduced the bill for its thirteenth time. She tells the Gazette the new bill would use money saved from capital murder cases to support families of murder victims.

Yeah, right. That money would go to wherever the Governor wanted it.
Money will always make things better, especially after a loved one is murdered in cold blood. NOT!!!
only one problem with this. More money will be spent taking care of the aholes! Unless of course the state releases them early, which you know they will!
Make it quick and painful! put everyone on notice what awaits one who commits murder in this state.
Some legislators just need to go away. There is nothing wrong with our death penalty laws except we have a wimp governor that won't use it. If he were to use it then that would save money.
