SGA Seeks Job Sites For 'I Love Salisbury' Oct. 27
Some 300 Salisbury University students are expected to help clean up public, private and non-profit properties during the fifth annual “I Love Salisbury” event Saturday, October 27. Students gather in Red Square to pick up supplies at 10 a.m. They then report to cleanup sites through 3 p.m. SU’s Student Government Association sponsors the event. Individuals and non-profits seeking assistance should fill out an online request for m at www.salisbury.edu/campusgov/sga/signups.htm by Monday, October 15.

Thanks SSU students for all you do.
Most of the time when we hear about anything from the media about the University, it's about a big party.
They do a lot in this community that goes unnoticed. I personally have seen them numerous times in Salisbury, entertaining the elderly, not just for friendship, also assisting in crafts to help those lonely souls pass some time and enjoy life.
For those who carry on these commitments started by alumnai and continue to morph into even more projects, thank you, and may God bless you all.
I agree 2:32. Speaking for myself I know when I hear of the large rowdy parties I complain and it is only because I've been there done that, have had friends die due to alcohol, have heard of the numerous sexual assaults, false sexual assault reports which always end up being a stain on the falsely accused, physical assaults and other violence.
The complaints are not because the community doesn't want the SSU students to have a good time but more of a safey issue. In my mind they are all "my kids" and I want their college years remembered fondly. I don't want some to have memories of a roommate who was killed in a drunk driving accident or even murdered.
Great effort from a lot of kids who are not even from here! Where to clean up this town? Well, let's start!

A little known fact is that the "I Love Salisbury" initiative was launched by SU student Pat Gotham and Councilwoman Debbie Campbell as part of their crime task force work together. Thank you, Pat and Debbie, and to all of the SU students, faculty, and neighbors who have continued to make it such a big success. It is a great opportunity to build bridges. This is one of the many good things that Campbell has quietly helped to do, and that the regular Salisbury media would never want to tell you about.
