Gov. Martin O'Malley says television ads against Maryland's proposed gambling expansion are "hogwash" and "a bunch of West Virginia casino hooey."
The governor had a few other colorful words in his tirade Wednesday against the ads by Penn National Gaming, which owns a casino in Maryland and another just over the state's border in West Virginia.
O'Malley took particular umbrage at the suggestion that additional gambling proceeds won't go to education as set out in the proposal.

He has to accept that as part of the system.I appreciate the ads that make us think about the consequences of this issue.Big money always seems to lend itself to corruption.
There is probably SOME truth in the ads. Thr usual political procedure is to give the money to the schools with the right hand and take it away with the left hand (behind the back). Politics....
Many have denounced Owe'Malley as "hogwash" long ago.
yeah right.
O'Malley is what is left after you wash the hog.
Who donates to O'Malley? RICH people trying to get their way. Who will benefit from the largess? The same people. Who will get even richer? The same people? Are you following the trail? And does ANYONE think this is going to benefit anyone but omalley and his cronies? Letting a few gamblers hit the $5000 jackpot PALES in comparison to the barrels of money the casino builders and operators will roll to the bank....
Why doesn't MD open some whore , crack and meth houses. That is where the real money is.
is that what he calls truth? well then that explains everything. poor guy is out of his league and unfortunately his lack of leadership has done a lot of damage to our state...
