Daily Times Demands Carriers Deliver Papers By 6:30 AM Tomorrow Morning

The Daily Times has demanded that all carriers are expected to meet the 6:30 AM deadline for all deliveries tomorrow morning. They go on to say in their message, "Be Safe". The Daily Times pays their Carriers .08 cents per daily paper delivery to their Carriers.

Considering how few papers they deliver any more these days as well as the cost of gas and maintenance one has to wonder why anyone would be in the newspaper delivery business.

Get this too. The delivery drivers have to PAY for all bags each newspaper is placed in AND put the paper in the bags. All for .08 cents a piece. We're told they get slightly more for a Sunday paper. Do the math.

The Daily Times is a rip off. I feel bad for the carriers because I know that they try to do their best.

The daily times has lost their friggin minds...

If they wanted them delivered, they would have to do it. Doesn't the Times listen to any warnings - everyone stay off the roads - I really don't think delivering a newspaper, especially as lousy as theirs is, is a good reason to be on the road.

This is why you have poor service. The carriers have to take on literally thousands of deliveries in order to cover their expenses. They bite off more than they can chew and service suffers for it.

Wow! According to their distribution manager, they are required to do so....I have called many times to complain about the paper they throw in my yard every Wednesday ...sometimes up to four papers in the same day.....I have asked them to stop, but was told the city requires them to deliver it!

Stop complaining...you get better service in bad weather than the postal service.

If I were a carrier, I would tell that lazy Tasha and Nikki to deliver it themselves and be done with the Daily Times completely. It's times like this I am especially glad I do not subscribe to the Daily Times. I could not sleep at night knowing someone was required to risk life and limb just to bring a newspaper. The Daily Times is pathetic.

And what will commander and chief Greg Bassett be doing, sitting home drinking?

I take offense to 10:56 my dad is a postmaster of a post office that functions every day no matter what the weather conditions and he has to go out on the street and deliver to an entire town no matter if his employees show up or not.

how do they get away without paying at least minimum wage for a persons time. I can not see how this is legal. Carriers must have a huge territory to cover. They must target the extremely desperate, how pathetic is that.

Last week I told the guy who was throwing that trash in my yard to please not throw it in my yard any more and he said I'm sorry but you're on the list to get it. List? What list? I didn't ask to be put on any list. Daily Times you know what you can do with that list.
