Troopers Investigate One Vehicle Crash West Of Laurel

Location: Little Hill Road, .3 miles north of Whaleys Road, Laurel

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday September 5, 2012 at approximately 5:50 p.m.

Laurel, DE- Jerry E. Mitchell, 66 of Laurel has succumbed to the injuries he sustained in a single vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday September 5, 2012.

Mitchell, who was not properly restrained, was removed from the scene by EMS and initially transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital before being flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma where he was listed in critical condition. He was pronounced dead on September 10, 2012 at 9:15 p.m.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.
