On September 10, 2012, after a trial by jury, Michael Andrew Dixon, age 23, of Salisbury, Maryland was found guilty of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute (PWID), Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Drug Paraphernalia. The Circuit Court Judge presiding over the case sentenced the Defendant to serve twenty years in the Division of Corrections with all but ten years suspended for the PWID charge. For the paraphernalia charge, the judge also sentenced the Defendant to serve a sentence of two years consecutive to the ten year active sentence imposed for PWID charge.
After sentencing the Defendant for the drug convictions, the Court sentenced the Defendant to an additional eight years in the custody of the Division of Corrections because the Defendant violated the conditions of his probation. The Defendant was convicted of First Degree Assault and Robbery in 2008. (The Defendant was sentenced to a total of twenty years in the custody of the Division of Corrections today as a result of the drug conviction and the fact that the Defendant violated his probation on the 2008 case.)
“We will always do our best to hold violent repeat offenders accountable, and we want to send a message that dealing drugs in Wicomico County will not be tolerated” said Matt Maciarello who prosecuted this case.
Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Salisbury Police Department, the SPD Tactical Team, the Safe Streets Team, and the Maryland State Police for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case.

Some people dont even get 12 years for murder.
Disqusting, and anyone who supports this is disqusting.
They need to prosecute all repeat offenders like this. A slap on the wrist the first time didn't work.. If u are breaking the law u know the consequences.. If they only get a slap on the wrist the the risk of breaking the law maybe worth it..a harsh punishment maybe now they may see its not worth it
6:10.... the guy haf been convicted of an armed robbery and 1st degree assault just 4 yrs ago. Seems as though he was given a huge break. Then while on probation he enters into the distribution of crack. How much of a break does he need? Unfortunately many offenders are cut the same break and continue on to bigger/better crimes. Remember it was a jury if his peers that ultimately convicted him based on the evidence that was presented.
