Fallen Four Seasons Liberty Oak Tree Becomes Art

For four days this week, Joe King’s workshop was a lawn near the clubhouse in the Four Seasons housing development.
King is known as Joe the Tree Carver and that’s what he does.
And Four Seasons, a gated community near Montclair for adults 55 and older, had some carving to be done.
When the derecho storm passed through the area on June 29 its strong winds toppled the Four Seasons Liberty Oak, a 107-foot white oak tree, believed to be the oldest of its kind in the county. The tree, thought to be over 200 years old, was on the county's champion tree registry.

That was cool but very not that great. If you wish to see a real work of art (chain carving) from a tree that was taken out by a storm. go to Foskey Lane, across from the school in Delmar. But, which out for the bear in the yard.
