Cutting Hours For Thousands At USPS

Regulators have approved the Postal Service's plan to cut hours at thousands of post offices nationwide. The Postal Regulator Commission said it was OK, even though it might be harder on customers. Under the plan, some post office retail windows would be open to the public for just two hours a day. The plan would impact 13,000 post offices nationwide. The Postal Service said it needed to pare down labor costs to match the reduced demand for services.

What the hell is the point of having a post office open for 2 hours a day?

I talked with a lady yesterday who was in training to be a mail delivery person. She said her starting wage was $15. 90+ an hour.
She missed the $19.00 starting wage by a few weeks.
She said there were a lot of people in training for these positions.
It just seems odd they are cutting hours and hiring more people.
Oh well , they are not the sharpest crayons in the pack anyway.
She was training in Easton and some other area out of Salisbury.
