I am so happy that I did not take a job in Cape Coral, FL now. If things didn't work out then I could have become one of the 8% of foreclosures. But if you've got the cash and want a second home I'm sure that there are plenty of them out there that you can get for a reasonable price although like anonymous 11:29 said, many of them are on sale for well above market value -- due to the housing bubble I'd suspect.

Foreclosures stalled for awhile because of the Robo-signing scandal. There is massive shadow inventory. The real estate recovery is still a myth.
