State Pops The Cork on New Business Laws

Beginning July 1, small businesses in Maryland will have another tool to attract needed capital.

The law helping small companies obtain loans at lower-than-market interest rates is among those that impact businesses taking effect next month.

The state has had a similar program since 2009 for women- and minority-owned businesses.

“It’s a very good program. It reduces the interest rate you pay, which saves you money,” said Jacqueline Manzini, owner of Amtrac Railroad Contractors of Maryland.

Wait just one minute! President Obama just finished blaming the problems with the economy on State and Local governments. Around here, that means that Obama is no longer pointing the finger at Bush but Martin O'Malley. You just can't have it BOTH ways.

So, if what our President said is correct, the silly notion that Maryland has done something to attract new business means that Maryland government is calling Obama a liar.

As for any Government monkeying with loan programs, they've done enough damage with student loans and affirmative action loans to people that have no way to repay what they borrow.

Would someone please explain what I'm missing?

I can easily explain; what you are missing is a President with common sense.

You are kidding right? No one can say what you just did with a straight face. Obama is an ignoramus and his actions have proven it-from Cash for Clunkers to Solyndra and all in between.
The advisors he has chosen are incompetent fools from Holder (Fast and Furious) on down.
And before you go blaming it on the GOP "obstuctionists" remember this fact.......not only the Presidency but BOTH houses of Congress were democratically controlled for 2 long years and things progressively got worse-housing crisis, unemployment, deficit, etc.
Obama is a failure no matter how one tries to spin.

Unless you have enough money in the baank to cover what you want to borrow, what difference does it make what program they come up with if you are a small business you will not get a loan. I ave been in business 17 years and in all that time the onlly time a bank has offered to loan me money was when I was doing really good and did not need a hand. If you hit a rough patch all they can say is sorry bout your luck come see us whenyou are better off. Screw the banks and the tax happy govt. when i need something I save my cash and pay for it. If I cant afford it then I dont need it.

What good is borrowing money when you have so few customers? I don't need a loan, I need work!
