DNREC Offers Rain Barrels At Discount Price To Delawareans June 26-28

DOVER - To encourage water conservation and promote wise use of it throughout the state, the DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship is offering rain barrels at a discounted price to residents of Delaware at pickup locations in each county in late June.

We presently use 10, 55 gallon and 3, 275 gallon rain barrels at our house. 4 on each corner of the pole building and 9 under each downspout on the house. Just need to add 4 more for the garage. We also have a drum for the gray water from the washing machine. Even though this seems like a lot, when you go through a drought like we did last year, it still is not enough to keep a good sized garden watered.....

Forgot to add that we got our 55 gallon drums from Krogers Salvage on Woodland Ferry Road for $10. These are safe to use as they only had cookin goil in them which is easily removed with dawn dish liquid.
