From what I have been told, if the Trooper that pulls you over writes the ticket and gives it to you, it is not valid as the actual Trooper that witnessed the violation is up in the cherry picker. Thr trooper that pulled you over is not a witness to your violation.
However, if the "Cherry Picker Trooper" is listed as a witness on the violation, it is in fact valid. Again, just what I have been told. Does anyone have any clarification on this?
They haven't pulled that operation in quite a while.
If you take it to court, does both the crane guy and the ticket guy show up? If not, I bet you can get out of it.

i went thru there today on way to work site - talk about UNSAFE. it is an accident and a death of an officer WAITING to happen.

How can you tell from a cherry picker which car is which with traffic that heavey. If you want to see the radar do they lower the cherry picker?

FYI they were video taping the entire process so the tickets will stand up in court.
It's the same as when you get a ticket from aircraft. Guaranteed revenue.
They video taped Rodney King taking SEVENTY-THREE strikes from two cops with nightsticks. And the cops were found innocent. LOL.... maybe, just maybe, "videotape" isn't all its cracked up to be. Of course, THAT usually depends on whether you're a cop or a citizen. Who are ya gonna believe? The video tape, or your lying eyes? How many tickets are going to be written just to break even on the costs? Ever rent a cherry picker? Traffic flows pretty smoothly on RT 50 when cars are doing 70 mph. That is until people see a cluster of cop cars and start suddenly braking, changing lanes and yep, pulling over. And with the "move over" law, what a mess. BUT, its for our "safety". Uh huh. Safely putting your cash in their pocket is what I really mean. Murders unsolved, gangbangers running around, open air drug markets and we are MUCH safer with traffic enforcement. And people STILL think the State Police are something OTHER than strong arm (and well armed) revenue enhancers??
If they want to stop speeding put a bunch of really hot girls in bikinis on the side of the road waving. That will slow traffic up. Oh yeah, and make them wet. It may cause accidents but we would be driving slower.
Actually people have gotten off in court on this. not as rock solid as you think.
