Be with family and thank God for the men and women who sacrificed or still do and for their families. Whether losing their lives, their mental health, body parts or time with their families, they have truly sacrificed.
Thinking about my oldest son who is in Afghanistan (third tour in the Middle East), working in my yard and possibly checking out a movie later in the day with my younger son. Just enjoy being free and thankful because of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Having cookouts with family and friends. Taking time when we are gathered together to remember and thank those who have fought and are still fighting for our country!
Remembering those who have died in service to our country: our military. Memorial Day is for them. Veteran's Day is for those who served and those who are living. Two different days. I fly my flag and Memorialize the ultimate sacrifice others have made.
Oh, the usual. We set up the Merry-Go-Round in the front yard, and as we turn it on at 9:00 P.M., we encircle it marching in the opposite direction with our flaming torches, waving them around and bowing to the Machine, just like everybody else. Why, what are you doing?
Remembering the previous Memorial Days (May 30) when I was a member of the Armed Forces. I was proud to be in service to my country. I appreciate those who are in "harm's way" and other areas of the globe in duty to their country. I always have a U.S. Flag flying remembering those who are no longer with us, of these many years of war.
I will be spending my day welcoming home the 1049th transportation unit. They are returning home from thier 10 month tour in AFG. I can not think of a better way to spend the day then welcoming my brother, brother-in-law and the rest of the unit home.

Gather family for a weekend camp out. Find time to remember all those that are serving or have served. That is what it's all about folks!
