Let People Get High!

So says the American people in a new Rasmussen poll that finds 56% of Americans support legalizing marijuana and regulating it like tobacco and alcohol. Only 36% of Americans were opposed to the idea. The number of Americans supporting marijuana legalization has jumped nearly ten-percent since a similar poll was conducted back in March. And this poll backs up a Gallup poll from last year showing that for the first time pot was criminalized in the 1920s, more than half of the nation supports marijuana legalization. The American people are realizing that Nixon's failed war on drugs has a lot to do with our economic and social problems today – from prison overcrowding, to deficit-inducing drug enforcement, to violence on the Southern border. Let's scrap it altogether and put in place some common-sense drug laws.

It doesn't matter who you vote for! Wake up the President's just a scapegoat, He has zero control over anything in this country! And regarding "drugged up" I think that the Big Pharma and the FDA is keeping people more "drugged up" with their "synthetic heroin" a.k.a. prescription pain medication, which kills thousand a year and leaves the entire population in a junkie stupor than marijuana, which by the way cures over a hundred different diseases. Do some research, and some unbiased facts.

Lol at drugged up. Pills destroy peoples lives yet you can pop those like candy.

Dear Carol Echard, You've stated all of it correctly. The true source of drug abuse in this country, is the doctors, who know full well that over the course of time, they've turned their patents into junkies, but as long as the kickback$ being paid to the offending doctors, by the manufacturing pharmaceutical companies continue, the cycle will never end. Legal drug manufactures, as well as legal alcohol sales, are the real driving force of drug abuse in America, not your local crack or pot dealer. To make an easy point, who would you rather meet while driving on the road? A drunk or a person high on pot? Easy answer for me.

Thank you Mrs. Echard. What you said was right on point.

Yep as long as the government and doctors can make a buck why legalize anything else? That only gives the population another way to help "heal" themselves that is not at the control of the government. It is hilarious how seriously hypocritical our government is.

Who cares what the majority wants? You think this is still a republic? Its what the insurance companies want. The pharmecutical companies. And the other big lobby firms that give hundreds of millions of dollars in "campaign contributions", not because they like the candidate (they give to BOTH parties -- a dead giveaway of their REAL purpose, which is bribery). NORML (Nation Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) can't equal the bribes of the other entities. THAT'S how to change the laws. Liberally grease the palms of these shameless snakes. They'd kill their mother for the right cash payment. Its not "reason", or "logic" or the "will of the people" thats makes a bit of difference to congress. Its money. MONEY. Which politician is gonna "fix" that? "Change" that?
