Sidewalk Right Of Way

The Moose lodge on Snow Hill Rd won't grant an easement to their property for constructing a sidewalk for kids that walk to school. The easement is right by PNC bank on Beaglin Park Dr. The construction would run parallel to Beaglin Park Dr, right in front of the apartments closest to Parkside west, to Bennett. It's my understanding they are the only holdout. Like the speed cameras, this is for the kids.

Are they not able to walk across grass?

The city already has a right of way. They don't need to ask anybody to build a sidewalk. Stop blaming the Moose Lodge.

Everyone wants less taxes and budget cuts blah blah. But then I keep seeing comments like this, build a side walk, get cops to help with kids in the street... that all costs money.

I cant believe there is no sidewalks or street lights all the way down college ave. to Snow Hill road.

It's not in city limits on that side. What about people with disabilities? There is a grant that is going to have to be turned back in. This is an easement issue, not right of way...

From what I heard, the county got a grant to put in sidewalks around schools and wanted to put them in the gap where there isn't any on college ave and in front of the moose. But they are having a hard time getting people like the moose to grant easements. I think it is a hundred percent federal grant. Ashame people wont help get this done. They have a cattle path looking thing going through their yards now....wouldn't a sidewalk be better?
