In Aurora, Colorado, a first-grader was suspended for sexual harassment after singing a line from an LMFAO song to a girl in his grade. “I’m sexy and I know it,” D’Avonte Meadows crooned. He was thrown out of school for harassment because the school’s discipline code reads that his behavior had “negative effects on the learning or work of others.”
Predictably, the boy’s mother was shocked that D’Avonte was punished: “I could understand if he was fondling her, looking up her skirt, trying to look in her shirt … That, to me, is sexual harassment. I’m just, I’m floored. They’re going to look at him like he’s a pervert. And it’s like, that’s not fair to him,” said Stephanie Meadows.
Of course, Ms. Meadows also acknowledged that D’Avonte had done the same thing last month while “shaking his booty near the girl’s face” and been warned by the assistant principal to stop.

Every kid on my boy's little league team sings it. What is this world coming to.
It's inappropriate behavior, but 6 year olds do not do sexual harrassment when they really don't know what it is they are doing except dancing.
This is stupid on both sides.
If the boy is bothering the girl, then the mother and the teacher should explain to him that it is not nice to do that, that it's a grown up thing and it's not nice to do unless the other grown up wants you to do it with them.

You are stupid, misguided and misinformed if you don't think a 6 year old knows what is going on. My kids picked up this immoral ghetto actions from the little church street thugs while they were going to Beaver Run School.
First lesson I learned was to not allow them to take the bus anymore.
Second lesson, find a better school to attend that is far away from the Church Street Thugs.
Third lesson, make them listen to Country Music.!!!

During American Education Week I was sitting in my child's class first grade class. The children were in pairs sharing a book. I happen to notice a little boy rubbing the little girls back, as I was trying to get the teachers attention his hands were going lower and lower on her back.
Don't tell me it doesn't happen. I witness it happening first hand.

Not a 6 year old pervert for singing a catchy (albeit silly) song. HOWEVER, once this behavior has been demonstrated (as it had previously) and then REPEATED regardless of the prior discipline it becomes a problem.

To all the people that think a 1st grader is all about sex and he knows what sexual harsment is then I'm sure you all wouldn't have a problem with teaching the kids all about safe sex in first grade. Not ALL children in first grade are like this. This child has learned this bad behavior somewhere. If he is old enough to be learning this type of behavior someone should also be responsible for teaching him what is right and wrong and that there are consequences for his bad behavior.
