WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Most Americans want U.S. troops out of Afghanistan
and oppose a significant long-term commitment to support that nation's
economy and security, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Friday.
But the poll also
indicated that most Americans favor keeping some U.S. forces in
Afghanistan to help train that nation's troops, and to continue missions
targeting al-Qaeda.
Taken together, the
findings suggest "Americans essentially want to be done with
Afghanistan," said Ipsos pollster Chris Jackson.

getting all of the US equipment out of Afghanistan will take a long time, maybe years.2014 is possible but unlikely.
Getting all the equipment out? At the end of the Kuwait "incursion" we (the USA) pushed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment into the Arabian Sea (cheaper than shipping it) and left millions more in the desert. We will be in Afghanistan only as long as it takes for our "leaders" to find another third world country to sacrifice the lives and limbs of OUR kids at the altar of the great war machine we've created. Does ANYONE actually beleive that AFGHANISTAN (LOL!) is a THREAT or that we CARE if they can "manage their own security"??? Please don't fall for the "staging area" crap. Thats all it is.
As soon as we leave the Taliban will take over, why drag it out, get out now. A lot of those people have been on extended duty too long.
My sister's husband served in Nam, he wasn't the same when he came home. Sooner the better, get out!
