ELKRIDGE, Md. (WJZ)– A Howard County woman missing since 1991 is found buried just feet away from her home. Now her husband is under arrest.

Gigi Barnett has more on the gruesome discovery.

Howard County police say Robert Jarrett would never let them search his house even after he reported his wife missing years ago. This week, they got into his backyard and his wife isn’t missing anymore.

Some cold cases should not have been.Any honest innocent person would have gladly let police search their house. If for no other reason perhaps a clue might have surfaced.K-9's would have detected the burial site 21 years ago.

Maybe she was having an affair? That could be his defense.Crimes of passion are the most brutal.

....and really 9:57 what could have been done without a warrant? We got that old document called the Constitution to deal with in situations like this. And that thing called probable cause. I guess you are saying we should throw it all out the water just so cases do not go cold?

10:48-Would'nt the circumstances have justified a warrant? Are you suggesting that given the circumstances surrounding this case a judge would'nt have issued one?Everyone in law enforcement knows how important the initial 72 hours following a possible crime are.I personally would have assumed the worst and hoped for the best.
